Art Exhibit Series
Carlos Spivey
April 18th at 7:30
Carlos Spivey paints stories of Afro-centric tales of love and loss on both the physical and the spiritual plane, parables with universal themes that reflect a spirit of hope and perseverance. His colors are described as “Vivid and intoxicating (his) storytelling palette views… blue-black folks rising from the earth and deep sea dwellings where warriors reign… we remember that water indeed washes away a multitude of sins of false perceptions.”
Push Hands
w/ Mr. Baker & Shelly Mazer
(1 of 5)
Apr. 26, 3:05 - 7:35pm.
$499 for the 5 workshop series.
Please come to this special seminar with Master Zi’s teacher, Master Baker. This seminar will teach you how to:
- Effectively neutralize incoming force.
- Mobilize energy to redirect force.
- Understand concepts of yielding.
- Cultivate an alive, non-collapsed state of relaxation.
- Invest in loss.
The practice of Push Hands enhances the development of Tai Chi practitioners. It enables the student to utilize their form of Tai Chi as a tool to adapt throughout life. Push Hands can teach one to let go of their preconceived ideas about how things are and how the world is.

Yoga Naga is Master Zi's trademarked series of 84 postures which focuses on bringing awareness to the body's physiological morphisms and connecting the practitioner to the Quantum self, energetic body. Segmented in three sets of 28 asanas, yoga naga was developed to deepen our understanding of the mechanics of body movement and energy flow. Through breath and flow yoga naga helps us break dogmatic ways of practice by reminding us the process is more important than the goal. This six week Intensive Training Program meets from 6-7:30am, Mondays thru Thursdays, covering the first 28 asana, and includes an educational binder of the curriculum and a suggested reading list to accompany the physical morning trainings.

Shakti’s Elements Grand Opening: A Night of Culture, Jewelry
Couture, Healing, Dance & Martial Arts
Our
official launch event was held on May 7, 2005 and was
a festive night of drumming, dancing, music, martial arts,
jewelry-making and wellness, attended by smiling throngs
of friends and well-wishers.
The magical night was inaugurated by traditional Sri Lankan
drummers and dancers performing a spring ceremony and
the ritual lighting of the oil lamp. Shakti’s teachers
then led their students in masterful demonstrations of
Flamenco, Kathak, Jazz, Hip Hop, and Tai Qi. Master Zi
and Mfundishi Tayari Casel capped things off with a surprise
treat – a display of Nyoka Mapingha, a form of African
martial arts known as snake fighting.
The evening was both a celebration of art, movement and
wellness, and an invitation to join us here at Shakti’s
Elements to explore physical, mental and spiritual well-being
for a happy, balanced life. View our colorful images from
